Romance relationships are quite common but some are more rare than others. In the beginning of every relationship, it is all smelling roses. Then, over a period of time, serious compatibility issues may arise.
These issues may include personality clashes, excessive drinking, violence, abuse, inability to adapt to changes in life and family pressures. For example, a member of a couple is of one religion and the other is of a different religion, it can bring relationships with family members to a crisis point.
I know of one girl who was Jewish and her relationship was with a Catholic. They wanted to marry, and could not get the family to agree to marry in a single religious facility. In order to marry in a religious facility, they had to convert to that religion. They decided to not marry in any religious facility, and the couple were shunned by both families.
But they always said, we have each other. But unfortunately, the marriage did not last long. I know of another couple who were of the same religion, but had different ethnic background, and their marriage did not last long due to ongoing conflict with family relationships.
There are always challenges to romance relationships.
