Matchmaking And Introductions

There was a time when matchmaking was looked upon as the only acceptable way to meet another single person. The town would have one matchmaker in charge of lining up the destinies of available single men and women.

In some parts of the world, this role is still filled by an older member of the community and young couples are brought together in hopes of true love.

Everyone should be the recipient of a matchmaking friend or relative, at least once. You might be amazed at how the matchmaker views you and your personality. Many people are shocked by the person they are set up by.

Perhaps they think you are a cat lover when in reality you hate cats. It is the little things that can be viewed as humorous. The person may not know you as well as they think they do.

Matchmaking can go awry. If you do not like your date, do not hide it from the matchmaker. Eventually they will wonder why you are not dating the person they set you up with and begin to question you.

Be honest and let them know so that they will learn from their mistake. Otherwise, it might be an awkward situation at the next family gathering or visit to your friend's home if your bad date is there.
