Emotional healing may be needed when attempting to recover from a traumatic or emotional event. It may be a physical injury, or the ending of a long term relationship. Both events may have long term consequences, or with proper therapeutic management, recovery may be quick and effective.
If you are just coming out of a marriage and you have children, then there may be conflicts in any new relationship. To avoid problems in a new relationship, you should be honest and state you have your own children, to see if your new partner is happy with this knowledge.
Being honest with your new partner, helps avoid any long term conflicts and the need for emotional healing.
In another example, your previous partner may still have the keys to your apartment and you do not want him to come in to your home, while you are on a dinner date with your new partner. You can either change the locks and your problem is solved, or you can request the keys back.
If solutions are found quickly, before you start looking to start a new relationship, there may be less need for emotional healing.
