It's no longer feasible, and likely not appealing in most cases, to go with the parents to a matchmaker, so the newer resources for connecting with others may be things like a Jewish dating site, special events for Jewish young people, or even business interactions.
But there are other avenues for Jewish singles to peruse. For example, travel sites that cater to young Jewish people might offer "kosher cruises," or provide tours to other parts of the world.
Some have special trips for older singles as well. Other kinds of face to face meetings, like speed dating events, help to bring Jewish people into each other's orbits. Jewish business groups, film and book clubs, and similar organizations provide further opportunities to meet people outside of an obvious dating context.
It might be more difficult for Jewish singles to meet each other in their everyday lives these days, with all of the hustle and bustle of a busy business agenda. And yet in other ways, they have more scope than they've ever had before.
With the more traditional face-to-face way of meeting someone, now augmented by the Jewish dating sites, young people have many opportunities to meet others from all over the United States and the world.
