Online Catholic Dating Services

In the world of modern dating, especially dating among religious groups, it seems that everyone influences each other. Catholic dating services grow out of Jewish ones, which branch off of evangelical ones, and so on.

Who would have thought that speed dating, created in Berkeley, California by a Rabbi who wanted to help Orthodox Jewish young people meet and pair up, would have resulted in a speed dating website where you can click on "Buddhist Singles" just as readily as "Jewish Singles"? Jewish dating services have influenced others, and been influenced in return.

But this may be seen as a problem by some, when uncomfortable business pragmatism creeps into the equation. If Jewish dating sites sit on the same directory as every other religious dating site, does that mean all these religious sites are regarded as virtually interchangeable?

That viewpoint might not sit very well with any devout person who regards their religion as the "true way." To find that a Catholic dating site is owned and operated by the same company that promotes a Muslim or Mormon site, might be considered insulting to some who don't think all religions have the same status.

Since many young singles are now trying to broaden their scope and use the internet to find each other, a big business opportunity has arisen. But when it comes to Catholic dating or other religious sites, many might be forgiven for thinking that the business opportunity is considered much more important than the religious principles.

For the devoutly religious person, who doesn't consider their religion interchangeable with others, it may be questionable, not to mention objectionable, that a Jewish dating site could be linked right next to Islamic, Christian, Buddhist or lesbian sites.
